Seek Knowledge From The Cradle to The Grave

“Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.”
I am very saddened at the conditions prevalant today. It is so common that preference is given to worldly knowledge over deeni knowledge. Yes, you can study further in secular education but why degrade someone who is studying deeni knowledge?

When someone asks you what you’re doing and you reply by saying that you’ve started Hifdh or you’ve started Madrassah (Aalim/a course), then you are looked upon differently. They say why didn’t you study further or what is it gonna help you with in life. Negative comments are thrown at you like a pile of bricks. Why are we making it seem as if orldly knowledge is superior compare to Deeni knowledge???

Do not discourage someone who is studying Deen. Ever.

A student of Deen is one of the most fortunate people out there. Daily, as they take their first step seeking Deeni knowledge, the angels spread their wings beneath the person, taking blessings from this fortunate Taalib-e-Ilm!

The fish in the ocean, the birds that are flying around, actually all the animals make du’aa of forgiveness for the person.

If you have taken the great step in acquiring Deeni, beneficial knowledge, do not ever feel that those in universities or schools are superior to you because in Allah’s eyes you are chosen. Out of all the people, Allah handpicked you, and chose you to study His Deen… to acquire knowledge of Him and His Beloved صلي الله عليه و سلم…

With all of this said, we should also try to perfect our character. One day, I recieved Naseehat from an Apa. This Apa’s words struck a chord in me… if your Akhlaaq and the Akhlaaq of those who are not studying Ilm is different, as in her Akhlaaq is better than yours, then you are doing something wrong.. your Akhlaaq supposed to be better than those who aren’t studying Deen.

We should daily remember our teachers, the pious predecessors, the authors of the various kitaabs, our parents, and all those who were instrumental in our studying Ilm in our du’aas. The amount of struggles and difficulties the authors had to undergo to study ilm are countless… and we have it so easy compared to them. Alhamdulillah..
Always try to remember to ask Allah for beneficial knowledge and seek protection from knowledge that doesn’t benefit as Nabi صلي الله عليه و سلم did this.

May Allah Ta’ala grant us the understanding of Deen. Aameen!
