Oppression & Islam

You claim that Islam promotes oppression?

>Allah Ta’ala the Most Just says in the Qur’an:

“THE OPPRESSORS HAVE NO FRIEND NOR AN INTERCESSOR WHOSE WORD CAN BE ACCEPTED…”

[Surah Mu’min]

Jabir رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلي الله عليه و سلم said:  “Abstain from oppression because oppression will be a cause of intense darkness on the day of Resurrection. Abstain from miserliness because it destroyed those who were before you. It prompted them to shed blood and to consider as lawful what was made unlawful to them.” [Muslim]

Mu’adh رضي الله عنه  narrates: “The Messenger of Allah صلي الله عليه و سلم sent me (as a governor of Yemen). He advised me saying: You are going to people of the book (Jews and Christians). Invite them to testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that I am the messenger of Allah. If they accept this, inform them that Allah made the five daily Salaahs compulsory on them. If they accept this, inform them that Allah made Zakat compulsory on them. This charity is taken from the rich and given to the poor. If they accept this, abstain from taking their precious wealth (as payment for Zakat). Beware of the supplication of the oppressed for there is no barrier between it and Allah. [Bukhari, Muslim]

Islam teaches us to treat every individual kindly. We are not supposed to harm them verbally or physically or in any way for that matter. Yet we see how the media has portrayed Islam to be. Islam is truly beautiful. Oppression isn’t something that Islam encourages ever.

May Allah make us true servants..

Remember me in your du’aas.
