Qurbaani & Dhul Hijjah

Qurbaani of an animal whose horn has broken off

Q: Can Qurbaani be made of an animal whose horn has broken off?
A: If the horn has broken off from the root, it will not suffice for Qurbaani. However if it did not break off from the root, it will suffice.

Qurbaani of a lame animal
Q: Can an animal which is lame in one leg be slaughtered for Qurbaani?
A: If it only walks on three legs and does not take support from the lame leg, then it will not suffice for Qurbaani. However if it takes support from the lame leg, it will suffice.

 🕋Allaah says in the Qur’aan,

“Then they should remove their untidiness (unwanted hair and long nails), fulfil (any of) their oaths (that they may have taken) and perform Tawaaf around the Freed House (the Kabah, which has been freed from tyrants)”.🕋

[Surah Hajj, verse 29]

Since the command from Allaah is to perform Tawaaf around the Kabah and the Hateem forms part of the Kabah, it is Waajib (compulsory) to perform Tawaaf around the Hateem.

ANOTHER GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY !!
Hadhrat Abu Hurairah RadhiyAllahu anhu narrates that Nabi ﷺ has said that: “No day is such, whose good deeds performed in it, can equal to the good deeds performed during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.The reward of one fast during these days equals the reward of fasting for one entire year, and ibādah (worship) performed during its nights equals the reward of worship during the night of Qadr (laylatul Qadr).

_Nasihah (Advice):

Hajj on behalf of an incapable person
Sayyiduna Fadl Bin Abbaas Radhiyallahu Anhuma reports that a woman from Khath’am (a tribe) said: “O Rasulullah ﷺ ! My father has lived until Allah has made Hajj obligatory upon him, and he is an elderly man who is unable to sit on the back of a camel.” He ﷺ  said: “Perform Hajj for him.”(Tirmidhi)
