The Nightly Surahs

How important is it to recite the daily Surahs?

Surah Waqia

Hadhrat Abdullah bin Mas’ood radhiyAllahu anhu relates that I heard Rasulullah salAllahu alayhi wa salam say: The one who reads Surah Waqia every night, poverty will not befall him. (Abu Ya’la, Baihaqi)

We should make a concerted effort to recite this Surah every night. An Ustaadh of mines so beautifully said that we shouldn’t think that by reciting Surah Waqia, we will become rich, but the essence of it all is contentment. As Nabi salAllahu alayhi wa salam said that riches is the riches of the heart..

Surah Mulk

Rasulullah salAllahu alayhi wa salam said: Verily a Surah from the Qur’aan consisting of thirty Aayaat intercedes for a person until he is pardoned by Allah and that is ‘TabarakAladhi biyadiHil Mulk’. (Tirmidhi, Haakim)

Rasulullah salAllahu alayhi wa salam said: The Surah of Tabarak is a grear protector and deliverer, it protects and frees one from the punishment of the grave.

Surah Sajdah

Hadhrat Jabir radhiyAllahu anhu said that Rasulullah salAllahu alayhi wa salam would not sleep until he would read Alif Laam Meem Tanzeel as Sajdah and TabarakAladhi biyadiHil Mulk.. (i.e Surah Sajdah (21st Juz) and Surah Mulk (29th Juz). (Bukhari. Tirmidhi)

It is very sad to say that we have become very neglectful of these things…

May Allah keep us steadfast on deen. May Allah keep us steadfast on our actions..

Do remember me in your du’aas.. I do apologise for the lack of posts from my side. My life has just been… busy?… and I’ve been having a bit of writers block..
