Islam – The Holy Qur’aan

In the Name of Allah, the One who has revealed the Qur’aan to Muhammed (Allah send salutations upon him) by means of the Angel Jibra’eel (Gabriel).

One night, Prophet Muhammed (Allah send salutations upon him) was sitting in the cave of Hira (in Makkah) when the Angel Jibra’eel (peace be upon him) appeared in the cave. The Angel told the Prophet (Allah send salutations upon him) 3 times to ‘Read’. The Prophet (Allah send salutations upon him) trembled with fear and said that I cannot read. Each time, he replied the same.

The Angel Jibra’eel (peace be upon him) then said, “Read in the name of your God (Allah) who created. He created Man from a clot of blood. Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous – Who taught by the pen……”

The Prophet (Allah send salutations upon him) began trembling and went home to his wife Khadija (Allah be pleased with her).

The incident continues when Khadija (Allah be pleased with her) took the Prophet (Allah send salutations upon him) to her cousin who said that this is a sign of prophethood etc…

The point of the matter is that the Qur’aan is the only book which exists that isn’t changed by people. This Holy Book remains the same as it was some 1400 years ago. This is a miracle!

The Qur’aan was revealed over a period of 23 years and continues to remain in the hearts of all Muslims!

Not a single human on the surface of this Earth can bring forth a verse of their own resembling the eloquence and beauty of the Qur’aan. The Qur’aan proves this itself.

The Qur’aan is a beauty and amazement and I think all Muslims are still in awe out of its beauty!
Have you ever heard the Qur’aan being recited?

If not, you are missing out on so much!

  1. السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته.
Sister, I just wanted to bring to your attention that the translation of the first few verses that is mentioned in this post is inaccurate
“….who has created. He created man…”
The word “خلق” (He created) appears twice in the verses, at the ending of one and at the beginning of the next.
    جزاك اللهُ خيراً
